Windows "Unauthenticating" itself
We run a single server with a KMS key host, we install windows 7 enterprise N with either windows deployment or the CD. After a couple of days and some updates the systems say an unauthorized change was done to the machine and it prompts for a cd key. If we try to use slmgr.vbs /dli :it says product not found, and displays the error 0x80072EFE, windows not running core edition. There isn't any rhyme or reason as to which computers experience this. Note: Our server is Windows 2008 R2 x64, with well above the minimum specs. The windows machines vary but all types have experienced this.

Are you using the installer script file and plugging in the key at that time? Are these MOLP licenses? The server is not the one doing the authentication of the product keys. At least this is my understanding. I thought the Clearinghouse handled all key requests....Network Systems Engineer * Zvetco Biometrics * Windows Server 2008 R2 * Core2 6600 @ 3.30GHz * 16 GIGS RAM * NVIDIA 9400GT * ** " Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, Because the Windows 7 can’t use the DNS recorder to find out the KMS server, the temporary license already expired. In this case, it may be caused by your network connection or Date/Time. Please try the following steps: 1. Use this command “slmgr.vbs /rearm” to reset your Licensing status. 2. Check your network connection. 3. Disable your Anti-virus software and Firewall software. 4. Use this command “slmgr.vbs /skms <your KMS server name> ” to set the KMS server. 5. Use this command “slmgr.vbs /ato” to activate the machine.
